AmeriVu Inn & Suites - St. Croix Falls, WI

The price is right . . .

Amerivu won't win any awards for curb appeal, but let's just say the options are limited out this-a-ways.  Finding a reasonably priced place to stay in the St. Croix Falls area wasn't easy.  This was probably the ONLY place available for just around $100 a night.  It IS conveniently located for all the attractions in the area, so it makes an excellent homebase

Staff was friendly enough, and quick to respond the couple of times we troubled them

Our deluxe room was a few doors down from the entrance (I can't imagine what a non-deluxe room would have been like). It was seriously outdated, but seemed clean.  Was a mix of spartan and cramped.  While the bathroom was small, and there was no counter space to speak of other than the sink and a windowsill, the shower was actually functionally decent.  Head was nice and high, good water pressure. There was a door that led to an inner halway, and one that opened right onto the parking lot, which was fantastic for unloading and loading

The pool was sizeable, water was clear, and the kiddo said the water temp was fine, but man, what a humid sweatbox the pool area is.  That's pool areas in general, though, even the Springhill Suites Elmhurst we stayed at in Chicagoland a few weeks later

The continental breakfast included was sad (pics below).  So sad that after the kid took one bite of a crappy packaged cinnamon roll, we boogied out to find a real breakfast joint

This pic of the WiFi password on the back of the room's door is a sign of where that hotel is at in it's life journey.  The WIFI worked fine, but at some point doesn't staff put up a fresh sticker?

Yeah, so we'd stay there again, but would probably try harder to find a VRBO/Airbnb first
