Milbank SD - Valley Queen Heritage Center, Country Closet Consignment, and Whimsy on Main

There's some gold to be found on Main Street in Milbank . . .

Searching for lunch on a Monday led us to Milbank.  We enjoyed The Millbank Family Restaurant, and the waitress recommended we check out a music instrument attraction for kids on Main Street.  Turned out to be nothing more than you'd find at a larger suburban park, but it was a great excuse to check out some shops . . .

First stop was the Valley Queen Historical Center.  More history showroom than museum, it was cute.  The short documentary video history showing in a shoehorned theater room was worth ten minutes.  It's not really highlighted, but they also sell their cheese at direct from the manufacturer prices.  I mean, c'mon, only four bucks for a pound brick of cheese?

Whimsey On Main was a cute immaculate shop with tons of finds.  Not much that you wouldn't find in a major city as far as I remember.  Books, decorations, specialty foods and goods, soaps, fancy cooking items, etc, and a whole room of toys

Lastly we have the Country Closet Consignment.  Mostly clothes interspersed with nick-nacks, toys, cards, and other items you'd find at a thrift shop.  I scored Othello for $2, and the lady and I had some late night games on the farm
