Heidi's Huggamug Cafe - Lake City, MN
A pleasant enough stop with a prime marina-side location . . .
On a roadtrip down to Winona, we made a pit stop for beverages and snacks. We liked it enough that we were happy to stop again on our way back north later in the week
Sitting across the street from the marina it'll make it a killer location come sailing season. As it sits the day after a massive snowfall, the view looks like a thrift store oil painting. Maybe even a bit of an unintended prelude to our visit to the Minnesota Maritime Art Museum the next day
In fact, four days later with temps crept around the 50's (ahh, The Tundra), we picked up a couple cups of soup, and beverages in tow popped over to a picnic area along the lake for a bit. Yeah, Huggamug has a pretty stellar location
INSIDE Heidi's I wouldn't call it warm and cozy. More of clusterclutter. And that's saying something coming from me, but I do appreciate that they were all festive with St. Patty's Day decorations. I'm guessing they go nuts decorating for xmas
How were the food and drinks? Was it worth a stop? Yeah, was alright, and reasonably priced. Nothing changed our lives, but the soups went down well, and were worth every penny of the $4 each. We tried three over the two stops. I enjoyed both the Chicken Wild Rice and Broccoli Cheese. The Lady gave a thumbs up to the Cheesy Asparagus, especially the rich broth. She said it had the essence of asparagus
Anyways, we'll give Heidi's Huggamug Cafe a thumbs up, and hope to make another stop in summer when we can truly enjoy sitting along the lake
I'll leave you with one last pic from behind the counter . . . oh behave yourselves, ladies ;)
