Jitters Java Cafe - Sauk Centre, MN
Another stellar find on the Road to Alexandria . . .

Our little family is always jonzing for a fresh reasonably healthy bite on road trips, and Jitters Java Cafe came up aces. A couple of excellent wraps, a breakfast croissant sandwich for lunch, some baked goods, beverages of choice . . . a worthy stop all around
We'll cover the food first. As a parent, even with a kid who'll try just about anything and isn't a pain in the ass eater, it still feels like ya struck gold when she crushes a meal. And man, did she devour Jitters' Breakfast Croissant w/Sausage. LOVED it. She saw this pic as I was working on this post, and her eyes lit up, said again and again how much she loved it. Look at that cross-section! Perfect looking fluffy egg, nice thick sausage patty. She shared a bite, and you really couldn't ask for a much better baseline. A home run

The lady was very pleased with their Turkey Bacon Ranch Wrap (Smoked turkey and bacon, Cheddar cheese, tomato, red onion, lettuce, and Ranch dressing in our vegetable herb wrap (though it doesn't look like an herb wrap, does it?)). She even liked how thin the dressing was, instead of thick and cloying
Like the kiddo, I crushed their Asian Chicken Wrap (Chicken breast, lettuce, cabbage, crispy noodles and almonds, and our Asian dressing in our colorful spinach wrap). Excellent combination, balance, and the noodles added welcome crunch. Unlike the lady though, my only nit to pick being I thought the dressing was TOO watery. It pooled all through the bottom of the container. The included pickle wedge was fine, and the side of potato salad was as meh as most potato salads usually are
We'd called our order in, and I'd been torn between ordering this wrap and one of their quiches. When I saw their Spinach & Swiss in the case, it was just too beautiful not to order. Unfortunately the flavor underwhelmed. Perfectly adequate tasting, but didn't pop like I hoped it would
In addition to an Iced Chai, an Americano, and a Spiced Apple Cider (with a hint of orange), some baked goods made their way into the vehicle. The above Cinnamon Roll Muffin (Can't say the flavor of the muffin popped, but I appreciated the restraint on sweetness of the frosting), a Lemon Poppyseed Muffin (Fine), a Molassas Cookie (Dense and ok minus) and a Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookie for Grandma. Oddly, from the little sample we had, I can't say I was impressed with the baked goods. They were fine, but nothing I'd rush back for. The wraps and sandwiches? We'll totally be back for those
And NEXT time we need to plan time to roam the STEP On In Thrift Store across the street :D
Alrightly, if you're out that way, on the road, hit this place up! Or the Ding Dong Cafe a few blocks over. For chrise sake, don't be lazy and go to a god damn fastfood chain. Hit up someplace local and fresh like Jitters Java Cafe
Enough preaching, down below are a bunch more pics of the inside of the place etc etc etc . . .
