A welcome delivery option to a hotel in the 'burbs on a Sunday morning . . .
That's not damning praise in any way, just the situation I was in. We were in Elmhurst for a baby cousin's baby shower, and the next day the lady was off to a wedding shower. I was gonna be free to roam, but then the kiddo got sick (from the hotel pool, I promise ya) and couldn't go, so it was a Sunday morning scramble to find something decent from one of the delivery apps. Molcajete did a fairly respectable job
Their Lomo en Chili de Arbol was alright for a delivery grilled rib-eye. Yeah my expectations were low, and it was certainly not a Michelin steak by any means, but the overall package hit the spot. The Mexican rice was typical, but had some bits of corn and diced carrot. The sliced avocado was beautiful. The side of Chili Torados I added did their job. I was satisfied
Tack on a solid Red Pork Tamale. Generally a safe delivery bet
The Kids Burger and Fries was about what you'd expect from a Mexican joint. Industrial Sysco burger puck, but the sick kid gets what the sick kid wants to go with her Pedialyte, and she wasn't going to eat much of it anyways
With my beloved Taqueria La Herradura only a few miles away in Addison, there's not much chance I'll be hitting Molcajete up again, but I'm willing to bet it's a thumbs up Mexican joint in it's own right
